The Digital Literacy Train the Trainer Program

 Are you interested in equipping instructors, community leaders, or peer mentors with the knowledge and teaching skills they need to deliver effective digital literacy training to learners?  

The Digital Literacy Train the Trainer program was created to equip educators with the skills and tools needed to offer digital literacy, digital citizenship and digital equity programming. 

The Program

Program Sessions

Session 1: Introduction and Adult Learning Principles

  • Understand program goals and trainer roles
  • Explore adult learning principles 
  • Recognize barriers adult learners face in digital literacy

Session 2: Core Digital Literacy Skills

  • Gain confidence in teaching essential digital skills
  • Practice explaining and demonstrating concepts simply and effectively
  • Learn to scaffold lessons for beginners

Session 3: Teaching Methods & Practice

  • Apply adult teaching methods to digital literacy instruction
  • Develop inclusive lesson plans
  • Gain feedback on facilitation skills

Session 4: Expanding Digital Skills & Digital Citizenship

  • Explore advanced but practical skills for daily life & work
  • Integrate digital citizenship into lessons
  • Adapt lessons to real-life learner needs

Session 5 : Assessment, Resources, & Action Planning

  • Practice assessing learners’ progress effectively
  • Build a resource toolkit for ongoing support
  • Develop a personal training action plan
