Your Instructor

Shannon is a Computer Skills Instructor at a non-profit in Chicago, where she teaches technology classes to adults.  Her instruction covers a broad range of topics including Microsoft 365, Google Apps, social media, internet safety, and job readiness. 

With a background in adult education, management, community outreach, digital equity and instructional design, Shannon has developed training programs and workshops for diverse audiences throughout her career. She presents at local, state, and national conferences, delivering sessions that focus on practical strategies for learning technology, supporting professional development, and fostering confidence in learners. Her ability to break down complex digital skills into clear, practical lessons has made her a trusted guide for learners at all levels. 

Shannon holds a Master of Library and Information Science degree from Dominican University and spent nearly 20 years in public libraries as a librarian, manager, and Deputy Director.  

In addition to her work as a digital literacy educator, Shannon is also a certified yoga teacher, teaching adaptive, yin and hatha yoga for all bodies and abilities. You can find her on Instagram @thistleyogachicago
